We are Purrendicular, and we are going to rock!
Purrpendicular is a new band consisting of sisters Rhiannon, Caitlin and their bro, Jazzpurr, the coolest cat this side of Moncton. Being sisters, Rhiannon and Caitlin have known each other since November 2nd, 1984, when Rhiannon was 2 years and 364 days old. If you're savvy in astrology, you'll note that the sisters are both Scorpios, and this makes for a volatile band relationship, as witnessed when Rhiannon stole Caitlin's socks this morning.
Caitlin and Rhiannon at the EDHS semi-formal in 1998
Caitlin, the lead singer, formerly belonged to the EDHS concert choir, and was talking about singing in local band Chamber Maid when Rhiannon approached her about forming their own band. Caitlin immediately expressed an interest in learning to play bass, and singing lead. Rhiannon was taught to play guitar by her good friend Holly, and has been resigned to the fact that she has to sign back-up vocals..."unless it's a punk song"
The girls come from a musical family. Their father is well-known on the coffeehouse circuit for his enthusiasm and his cover of the Small Faces' "Man of Constant Sorrow"; and their mother apparently could play CSNY's "teach your children" on guitar, but now confines her talents to singing Alanis Morissette and Eve6 during car trips, as well as occasional harmony vocals on "Bohemian Rhapsody". Youngest sister Aislynn has a vocal role in her class' production of "the pied piper" and also contributed the band's name.
Currently, purrpendicular are a cover band, with their covers ranging from the Bow Wow Wow version of "I want candy" to the Ramones' "rock'n'roll high school". The song selection changes greatly depending on who picks the songs and what Rhiannon can play. Caitlin's request for Meredith Brooks' "Bitch" has been granted, due to the fact that Rhiannon can play it (much to her dismay, it's an easy song.) Tom Petty's "You Don't Know How It Feels" has also been rumoured to be joining the setlist, and hopefully Purrpendicular will be making an appearance at Don's coffeehouse soon.

Almost Uncle Kevin-our uncle Kevin, he of the black clothes, ballcaps, Clash-named cats and sarcasm is also a kick-ass bass player.
Stewieeee-okay, so Stu is really my dad, and he hates being referred to as "Stu", but whatever. he's a great guitar player, and incredibly (not) supportive of how we make idiots of ourselves
DJ Boombastic-if we ever needed a DJ, this is who we'd call.
Fifi LaRue-sister of DJ Boombastic, this cat knows where it's at
